Remake of Bangalore Days’ Yaariyan 2 alongside Priya Varrier and Anaswara Rajan

Divya Khosla Kumar stars in the Hindi remake of Bangalore Days’ Yaariyan 2 alongside Priya Varrier and Anaswara Rajan.

Divya Khosla Kumar will direct the movie, which also stars Meezaan Jafri and Yash Das Gupta.

Anjali Menon’s Malayalam film Bangalore Days will be remade into a Bollywood film called Yaariyan 2, featuring two Malayalam actors – Priya Prakash Varrier and Anaswara Rajan.

In a social media post a few days ago, the production house announced the movie’s cast and the release date: “Cousins by blood, friends by choice!” Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru of Sanam Teri Kasam fame will direct Yaariyan 2, which is slated for release in May 2023.

In Yaariyan 2, Anaswara Rajan, who has starred in Malayalam movies like Super Sharanya and Vaanku, will make her debut. Anaswara’s latest release Mike marked Bollywood actor John Abraham’s debut production venture in Malayalam. In the coming-of-age drama, she portrayed a girl about to undergo gender reassignment surgery.

In the first Yaariyan film, Divya Khosla Kumar directed Himanshu Kohli and Rakul Preet Singh. Nazriya Nazim-Fahadh, Dulquer Salmaan, and Nivin Pauly played the lead roles in the Malayalam superhit, which will be portrayed by Divya, Meezan Jafri, and Yash Das Gupta in the upcoming film. Priya and Anaswara are expected to represent the characters shown by Isha Talwar and Parvathy Thiruvothu in Anjali Menon’s film, which was also remade in Tamil as Bangalore Naatkal.

The other Malayalam remakes are Akshay Kumar’s Selfie, Jahnvi Kapoor’s Milli, and John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor’s untitled film.
